I used to think it was strange that any time I was starting a new blog or webpage or whatever the page would automatically be titles “Hello”. But really…what better way to introduce someone to a new location on the internet?
Hello? Doesn’t that sound like the perfect beginning to a relationship?
On ConnectedNurses I have already a established a URL (web address) and a format for this blog. So, I guess that in a sense we are beyond the Hello stage. We’re sort of at “what’s new? (or some would say, “What now?”)
One comment I’ve heard about this blog is “How come the nurses in your banner aren’t wearing uniforms?” Easy! Nurses are people first (sorry I couldn’t find a banner image–at least right now–that truly represents us all!) and nurses second! We’re also brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, uncles and aunts–well, you get the picture.
As well, I’ve done more than just nursing in nursing, and I’ve been more than “just a nurse” with some of the people I’ve been a nurse to in nursing! I’ve sometimes been a friend, a colleague, a confidant and, some would say, just another guy.
Right now, I’d like to hear from all the nurses out there. First, who are you? See above–brother, sister, and so on. Second, what is your nursing passion or specialty. Nursing is HUGE profession, with nurses in just about every calling, specialty and industry! (Did you know that there are nurse architects? Really!)
